The Molesey Centre
St Peter’s West Molesey are delighted to announce that we have signed the lease for The Molesey Centre.
What's next? The building will be closed during June for refurbishment while we work on an exciting new offering to include a cafe area and a family friendly play zone. In addition to this, we are working with various partners, including Kings Church, to explore further ways to engage with the local community. We will also be looking to build on our existing team of volunteers to make the project a success. We are working with external hirers to provide alternative spaces during the closure of the building and look forward to welcoming as many groups as possible to the new space when it opens.
Working with the Friends of the Molesey Centre, we are pleased to offer the following activities at the St Peter’s Community & Youth Hub while the centre is closed:
Tuesday Coffee Morning & Quiz: 9.30am - 12pm (includes free tea, coffee and fun quiz)
Wednesday Free Community Lunch: 11.30am - 1.30pm (two course meal for everyone)
Thursday Free Community Breakfast: 9.30 - 11.15am
Volunteering Opportunities
During the renovation period we are looking for volunteers in the following areas:
Gardening
The Friends of the Molesey Centre have created beautiful garden around the centre which we can’t wait to open when the centre reopens. We are planning a Love Molesey gardening project to clear weeds and to enhance this special space which features vegetable patches, flower beds and peaceful seating areas. As well as an initial gardening session there will be opportunities to be involved in garden upkeep going forwards.
Painting
Do you love DIY? We’re looking for a team of passionate volunteers to paint some of the smaller rooms in the first two weeks of June. All materials will be provided.
Future opportunities
If you are interested in volunteering once the centre is open, we’d love to hear from you. There will be volunteer roles in the kitchen preparing and serving food, helping with activities for elderly guests, and welcoming visitors. Please click the button below to register your interest.
